Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the link
between thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It helps you identify
irrational or distorted thinking patterns and replace them with more
realistic and helpful beliefs, which in turn change how you feel and
respond.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a specialised
form of behaviour therapy, often used for
OCD, phobias and anxiety disorders. It involves gradual,
intentional exposure to feared situations while reducing safety
behaviours and compulsions, so that your brain learns you can tolerate
the anxiety and it naturally decreases over time.
